AEW Double Or Nothing 2024: 10 Things That Must Happen

5. Saraya Attacks Her Post-Match

You didn't see this coming, did you?

A fair few reading would've scrunched up their noses and asked, 'Saraya? WHY?!'. In late 2017, the-then Paige suffered a neck injury after taking something from the-then Sasha Banks on a WWE house show. That, unfortunately, led to Saraya retiring from the ring for a few years, and she wondered if she'd ever be able to wrestle again.

If AEW want something heated to kick off Mercedes Mone's TBS Title run, then they don't need to look any further than Saraya. She could rush out and put Mone down, hold up an old Outcasts style "loser" hand gesture, and then explain her actions on the next Dynamite. There, Saraya would reference her first retirement and say she's always wanted revenge.

What's that? Yes, yes this would be more WWE influence on the AEW product, but at least it's a story with context and history. Besides, a few more matches vs. Saraya would likely be exciting to Mone and get her title reign off to a solid start in-ring and on the mic.
