AEW Double Or Nothing: 8 Things We Learned

2. Hangman Page vs. Jericho Is On

Once it became clear that PAC vs. Hangman Page wouldn't be happening, AEW needed something else for Page to do. They chose to have him win the pre-show's 21-man Battle Royal and secure himself a shot at the soon-to-be-revealed AEW Title. Then, they went one better and decided that Chris Jericho would be his opponent.

Start getting excited about this one, because it's sure to be stunning. Page, who is being clearly positioned as a marquee star in the new company, will do everything in his power to ensure he shines, and Jericho (who has evolved into wrestling's smartest businessman) will realise how important it is to have parity heading into that match.

Page vs. Jericho is incoming.

That sentence just sounds like it'll melt Twitter's servers once fans get busy discussing the ins and outs of who will become the first AEW World Champion. Page vs. Kenny Omega would have been good, but Jericho was the right choice here.
