AEW Full Gear: 10 Things That Must Happen

10. Britt Baker Beats Bea Priestley

Britt Baker will be AEW Women's Champion at some point, and that's why she has to beat Bea Priestley.

There's some history here, and it's going on first as part of the Buy In pre-show, so the match shouldn't be devoid of crowd interest. That wouldn't be the case if AEW had decided to stick it on the middle of the card or, shock and indeed horror, in the traditional "death spot" right before the main event.

By going out in front of the Baltimore crowd first, Britt and Bea will get a nice reception that should help their cause. They don't really need too long anyway. A good six or seven minutes would suffice; that'd be enough for Priestley to show her heelish chops before Baker nabs the popular clean win and sets herself up nicely for Riho.

AEW made a lot of noise about decisive finishes early on, and they need to stand by their own chest-beating claims. Bea doesn't lose face by jobbing for someone the company clearly see as a star of the women's division going forwards.
