AEW Full Gear 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

2. Sting Nonsensically Eats A Pin

Former WCW, TNA and WWE icon Sting will give AEW the gift of his retirement come Revolution next year. That's a big deal, but the company must be extremely careful to handle this delicately and respectfully. There's no need to have the Stinger bow out on a low ebb.

Old-timers in the audience would be seething if he stared at the lights come Full Gear for Christian Cage, Nick Wayne or Luchasaurus. That'd kickstart some sort of 'do I even still got what it takes?!' tale for the legend, but it's completely unnecessary. Sting shouldn't lose until he's set to ride off into the sunset.

Save that distinction for later.

Darby Allin or Adam Copeland (yep) must eat the pin if the babyfaces are to lose. In fact, keeping Sting clear of the finish regardless of result sounds like the best way to go about things. He doesn't need to be the centre of attention quite yet.
