AEW Just Renewed A Top Star's Contract Shockingly Early... (AEW News)

Thekla has made quite the impression already in AEW.

Despite having been with the company for less than a year, AEW has moved quickly to tie Thekla down on a new long-term deal.

The Toxic Spider joined AEW in May 2025, signing a two-year deal at that time, and debuting by attacking Jamie Hayter on an episode of Dynamite. However, Fightful Select reports that Thekla recently signed a new multi-year deal after clearly impressing AEW management. Fightful adds that representation was used to complete this latest contract.

It's been quite the whirlwind ten months for Thekla in All Elite Wrestling, forming the Triangle of Madness with Skye Blue and Julia Hart, participating in the first-ever women's Blood and Guts match, and defeating Kris Statlander in a strap match last month to become the AEW Women's Champion.

Prior to signing with AEW, Thekla made a name for herself in Japan, initially in Ice Ribbon, before landing in STARDOM in 2021 and becoming a part of the Giulia-led Donna Del Mondo. She'd later briefly be a part of Oedo Tai and then join Momo Watanabe's H.A.T.E group, and would be storyline fired from STARDOM after attacking president Taro Okada following a loss to Sayaka Kurara at All Star Grand Queendom last April. Barely one month later, Thekla would debut in AEW with the aforementioned attack on Jamie Hayter.

With that big win over Statlander, Thekla became the 11th person to hold the AEW Women's Championship, with her reign currently clocking in at 34 days and counting.
