AEW Revolution 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen

2. “Being Roman Reigns” Almost Costs MJF

MJF Roman Reigns
AEW/WWE

MJF's character is a top notch pr*ck.

The reigning World Champ is the kind who goes out of his way to troll opponents and make crowds beg to see someone slap him silly. Is it too much to ask that MJF knowingly works in some callbacks to the ex-Daniel Bryan's WWE bouts opposite Roman Reigns?

At one point, it'd be a giggle if Friedman pulled back into the corner, performed Roman's old "Oooooh-aaaaaah" taunt, then leapt into the skies for a Superman Punch. This bid to mess with Danielson's head would ideally cost MJF a fall, and make the commentary team question why he's even trying that in a major World Championship match.

AEW don't need to go overboard with this sort of thing, but MJF playing Reigns for even a split second would be a neat Easter egg that'd give fans something else to discuss after the show. Then, this writer can go back on his own booking and bitch about All Elite referencing WWE soon.

Ahem.
