AEW Worlds End 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen
7. Riho’s AEW Women’s Title Swansong
By swansong, your writer means this is the final time Riho is in a major pay-per-view match for the AEW Women's Title. It's just boring now, and the women's division has defo moved on from its inaugural champion. Let's stop pretending it's still 2019, please.
Or, y'know, actually flesh Riho out with some proper character so fans have a reason to care about her cause. That isn't the case heading into Saturday's show. Riho is barely there as a viable challenger to Toni Storm, and fans in New York will probs cheer 'Timeless' Toni more than the babyface she's wrestling.
That's almost unavoidable at this stage, because Storm's gimmick is over huge.
Fingers crossed TK has the sense to keep this one on the shorter side, and that he hands the win to Toni so she can roll on to more impressive rivalries. There's certainly no way in hell Riho should be leaving Worlds End with that belt.
