Alberto Del Rio's 10 Best WWE Moments

4. Raw Money In The Bank Match (Money In The Bank 2011)

Alberto Del Rio Money In The Bank In another bit of a trend here, this is a match that was very solid, but won't really be remembered because of other things that took place on the same card. Money In The Bank 2011, of course, was the night CM Punk won the WWE Title and "left WWE". That goes to show you how underrated Del Rio is in the ring. He constantly delivers solid matches, but because they aren't as spectacular or "showy" as the matches of others, they're overlooked. Competing with Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, The Miz, Evan Bourne, and Alex Riley, Del Rio was looked at as one of the favorites going in. He won the Royal Rumble six months earlier, and while he was unsuccessful at WrestleMania, it didn't exactly send him tumbling down the card again. You knew he was still in line for big things. The match was exciting, with multiple high-fliers in the mix, and everyone had a chance to shine for at least a moment. Just 15+ minutes of organized chaos, which is really all you can ask for in a match involving tables, ladders, and chairs. Del Rio bucked traditional "heels are tough, but not very smart" wrestling themes with the way he won. As Mysterio was getting close to the top of the ladder, Del Rio instantly removed Rey's mask, knowing how much that means in the Mexican Lucha Libre culture. Rey would be overcome with trying to keep his face covered, instead of focusing on the rest of his climb. Using the distraction, Del Rio tossed Rey's mask away and made his way up the ladder for the win. It was just a brilliant move on his part, and it clearly benefited him, leading to him cashing his title shot in a month later and beating CM Punk for the WWE Title.
