By. The. Numbers.

Maybe I’m too young, but as a WWF fan from the 1990s I can’t remember a single good Legion of Doom match. Sure, they were awesome, intimidating as anything and arguably the most popular tag team of the era, but I don’t remember watching a match of theirs in the time since and thinking ‘wow, they could go’. They didn’t need to, because they had face paint, the had shoulder pads with spikes on them and they were called Animal and freakin’ Hawk.

Still, DiBiase and Irwin R. Schyster were more than capable of dragging something decent out of the Road Warriors, and that is pretty much what this is. It is every single WWF tag team match from the early 1990s stretched out into 15 minutes (FIFTEEN). LOD dominate early, Hawk misses a big move and then Money Inc. slow everything down. Hawk gets beaten, fails to tag his partner on a number of occasions before finally making the move to Animal who comes in ‘like a house on fire’. All hell breaks loose, and LOD eventually pick up the win after a big powerslam by Animal on Ted DiBiase.

Bonus points for DiBiase’s big event gear though. Now I see where Minoru Suzuki got it from.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
