There was a considerable change in The Undertaker's attitude towards the end of his Lord of Darkness stint in late '98. Not only had his lightened hair been redyed so that it was once again pitch black, he also sported an eye piercing and was just generally portrayed as a much more malevolent force. But it wouldn't be until he was buried alive (again!) that this change would fully take form.

Returning in 1999 with a slightly different hairstyle, new ring attire and a bloody killer goatee, the legend only went and started speaking in tongues, reciting some terrifying passages from the book of 'Deadman' about how he was the Weaver of Nightmares and that all us normal folk had better bow down to him.

Though his in-ring work suffered during this period of his career - both because of a nagging groin injury and the overbooked madness that came with the Attitude Era - Ministry Undertaker was one of the most intriguing extensions of his character because it made him seem more diabolical than ever (before ultimately paving the way for his more human persona to break through). And Mark Calaway sold the hell out of it.
