Analysing WWE’s 10 Most-Viewed YouTube Videos Of 2017

2. Unexpected Kisses: Top 10 (January 16th) - 19,001,596 Views

Ahead of the aforementioned romantic relations between John Cena and Nikki Bella finally migrating to the main roster, WWE showed the future Mrs Cena swapping spit with her eventual brother-in-law alongside Daniel Bryan's own beau Brie.

Other oral oddities from WWE's days of yore included Mickie James necking on with Todd Grisham in celebration of winning the women's title, the unconvincing clinch between Alicia Fox and Noam Dar, and the various liplocks from AJ Lee during her tumultuous first full year under the Raw and SmackDown spotlights.

There's an element of titillation in the title of course - the promise of surprise romance certainly gets blood in it for a section of the fanbase. However, its genuinely fascinating to see the company offer a glimmer of light to the type of footage they'd ordinarily bury in the darkest corner of the Network.

A 'Comedic' canoodle between Hornswoggle and Vickie Guerrero and the madcap adventures of the NXT Season 3 cast are offered up as moments of short-sighted silliness from an organisation that persistently takes itself far too seriously. This sort of stupidness should be celebrated, not silenced - kudos to WWE's YouTube team for acquiescing.
