Wantaway WWE star Andrade has finally broken his silence on reports that he is trying to engineer an exit from the promotion.

The former NXT and United States Champion just tweeted the following, confirming that talk of him asking for his WWE release is true, while thanking the fans for their support:-

The rumors are true and I don’t know what the future holds but I want to make my dreams come true. thank you for giving me so much support these last days Los rumores son ciertos y no se lo que me prepara el futuro, pero quiero hacer realidad mis sueños. Gracias por tanto apoyo??

It was reported last Friday that Andrade had requested his WWE release, which the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer later confirmed was denied. Other stories provided further details, claiming the 31-year-old was miserable at a recent Raw show, and he was absent this week's tapings.

Andrade last wrestled for WWE in October 2020, taking time off for a minor surgical procedure afterwards. He is yet to return to television.

WWE are not in the habit of letting wrestlers they see as a potential asset to another company go, with the likes of PAC, Brodie Lee, and FTR all retained for months after requesting their releases in recent years.
