Andrade Denies No-Showing WWE Events, Avoiding Phone Calls (AEW News)

WWE blocked Andrade's AEW jump, but he doesn't feel bad about his exit from the company.

Former WWE star Andrade understands why the company blocked his latest jump to AEW and laid down the law on a no-compete clause written into his contract. However, 'El Idolo' also refutes claims that he was knowingly skipping WWE dates or ignoring phone calls from members of management towards the end of his run there.

Andrade left WWE in September, but it wasn't long before he was back on Dynamite and joining the Don Callis Family stable. That's when lawyers got in touch and put a stop to everything - Andrade's no-compete clause meant he wasn't technically supposed to be on All Elite screens just yet.

Andrade gave his side of the story during an interview with Eduardo Bates on YouTube. According to him, he "never missed dates and never stopped answering the cell phone as many gossipy people who broke the news said". Further, the wrestler claims that chatter about him ignoring calls from WWE wasn't helped by various issues like travel, time difference, lack of signal in certain areas etc.

He says he always got back to people within a few hours/as soon as he could.

This is just the latest wrinkle in a fascinating story. Andrade previously worked for AEW between 2021-2023, but returned to WWE during the 2024 Royal Rumble match and seemed destined for a big push under Triple H's watch. That didn't come to fruition before his controversial departure in September 2025.

The saga rolls on, but Andrade has put the foot down on rumours he skipped WWE dates and outright ghosted them over the phone.
