Another Day, Another Bloody CM Punk Update...
Phil 'The Punker' Brooks' WWE return, latest update on Da Fed.
WWE sources still insist that CM Punk is not yet on the verge of returning to the promotion, despite reports to the contrary.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp tweeted on Sunday, dispelling the latest wave of speculation:
No conflicting news with us. WWE still claims no. https://t.co/KlPLTycKPF

This followed talk that Punk had been scheduled for a conference call with WWE board members - and an assertion that the deal may already be done.
Punk has been a free agent since AEW fired him with cause after allegedly brawling backstage with Jack Perry at All In 2023 (27 August). Intense speculation has linked Punk with a WWE return ever since, particularly as Survivor Series 2023 takes place in his backyard - Rosemont, Illinois - at the end of the month (25 November).
Nonetheless, WWE has thus far resisted the urge to strike a deal with Punk. Company higher-ups have stated that they aren't in talks with the controversial star. The company has actively attempted to temper expectations heading into Survivor Series, not wanting fans to feel let down by something that, up until this point, isn't on the cards.
It should be stated that none of this rules out the possibility of Punk re-signing with WWE in the future. For now, however, Survivor Series appears to be off the table.
