Assessing Future Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2017 Cut

1. Kane

Long gone are the days when Kane would act as a monster in Royal Rumble matches. The 'Big Red Machine' only eliminated R-Truth during the 2016 bout, a number even more astounding when compared to the 11 men he hurled over the top rope back in 2001.

This year, the WWE stalwart wasn't even involved in the Rumble. There's something regrettable about this decision, especially when wondering just what Kane could have added to portions of the match involving guys like Braun Strowman and Baron Corbin.

The prevailing message here is that those men are the monsters of the future and Kane is very much a WWE relic of the past. Once a Royal Rumble regular, is Kane's absence from the Rumble a sign that his once-ubiquitous role on television will be diminished further in 2017?

At 49 years of age, he's certainly not getting any younger - and it looks like WWE's writing team are more interested in guys like Corbin and Strowman going forward.
