Assessing Future Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2017 Cut

7. Jack Swagger

Almost 4 years on from 'We The People' becoming Jack Swagger's catchphrase, the former 'All-American American' is still using that same tired line. Rewind to the 2009 Royal Rumble, and Swagger's potential seemed limitless.

He defeated Matt Hardy to retain the ECW Title in the opening match on the card; since then, WWE have tried to push him numerous times - with zero success.

The number one problem with Swagger is that he just doesn't possess enough charisma to keep fans interested. Between the ropes, he's solid, but that's about it. Solid isn't good enough to turn heads, causing Swagger to become little more than someone who can deliver decent TV matches.

Swagger's chances of making the main WrestleMania 33 card are practically non-existent. Unless he's placed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, it's hard to see where the former World Champion might fit on the pay-per-view.

Even before 'Mania, the SmackDown draft pick would be a wasted slot in the upcoming Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Title. Unfortunately, Swagger is someone who is on borrowed time.
