Assessing Future Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2017 Cut

6. Sin Cara

It can't be motivating for Sin Cara to watch his former tag-team partner sprint towards the ring as a Royal Rumble entrant. Kalisto ultimately offered little in the match. He was only there so that Braun Strowman had another man to eliminate.

Still, at least he was involved. Cara sat on the sidelines and wasn't included in the show at all. At this point, WWE should probably look to abandon the entire Sin Cara character. The artist formerly known as Hunico has done an admirable job trying to rescue the guise following Mistico's miserable failure, yet there's no sign of progression or momentum.

Adult fans who remember the original Sin Cara view the character through scathing eyes - and young children have better masked men to focus on. Kalisto may be a mid-carder on SmackDown, but he's a mid-carder more over than his former buddy in The Lucha Dragons.

Sin Cara is going nowhere fast. He barely even fits into the revamped Cruiserweight division these days. It's time for that mask to retire - and the man behind it to move onto other things.
