Assessing Future Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2019 Cut

6. Lana

2017 was a big year for Lana. That summer, she left her valet days behind and attempted to launch her own career as a serious in-ring worker. WWE seem to have forgotten all about that.

Now, the 'Ravishing Russian' is a minor part of the women's division who is once again more likely to appear as Rusev's manager than anything else. Though this isn't exactly a disaster (Lana is very good by her husband's side), it does show that WWE's writers have given up on the idea of her ever blossoming into a sound technician between the ropes.

At the Rumble, she was booked to feign injury following a Nia Jax attack and was then replaced by the much-more popular Becky Lynch. It was a sign of the fanbase's acceptance of Lana as a wrestler that nobody blinked. People were too busy heralding 'The Man' instead, and few noticed the blonde bombshell limping out of the arena.

Lana's future is obviously beside Rusev, and the Rumble felt like a watershed moment for her in-ring dreams.
