Assessing The Futures Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2020 Cut

2. Big Show

Well, which way did he go this time?

Big Show's recent return on the 6 January episode of Raw to align with Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe seemed to signal that Show would be involved in something at the Rumble. Much like Matt Hardy (and maybe Kane), he'd have been a fine choice for elimination at the hands of Brock Lesnar early in the match, and wouldn't have lost any star power by going over the top rope.

He was nowhere to be found last Sunday, and the commentators didn't mention Show's comeback at all even when Seth Rollins, Buddy Murphy and AOP were trying to dominate the Rumble. It's almost like his return was only there to kill time for the writers before the next pay-per-view. Imagine that.

2020 could well be Show's last in a wrestling ring. He's 47, nowhere near as mobile as he once was (those knees have to be shot after every performance these days) and has little purpose outside the occasional comeback gig. The WWE Hall Of Fame awaits.
