Assessing The Futures Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn't Make The Royal Rumble 2022 Cut

5. Bron Breakker

Not an active member of the WWE main roster just yet, but Bron Breakker seemed a shoe-in to make an appearance in the men's Royal Rumble.

The usual dirt sheets had tipped the Son of Steiner to get a Rumble outing, with backstage reports indicating the current NXT Champion would get the chance to mix it up with the stars of Raw and SmackDown. Alas, that was not the case.

Much like speculated Rumble appearances for the likes of Raquel Gonzalez, Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne and LA Knight, there was no Breakker spotting at this year's January PPV.

As to whether this should be used as some sort of indicator of Bron's standing within WWE, the organisation clearly sees him as a future, genuine main event player. The lack of a Rumble appearance here is nothing more than WWE - for once! - not wanting to expose a talent too much, too soon.

The fact that Bron only has nine televised matches to his name - and 14 matches, period - is insane when you look at how good he is already. Not making his much-rumoured Royal Rumble bow is a non-issue while Dog Faced Gremlin Jr. is learning his trade and still so short into what will hopefully be a lengthy career.

And let's face it, there's an extremely good chance - a 141 2/3% chance? - that Breakker will eventually be a Royal Rumble winner at some point down the line.
