The impact of CM Punk's shocking AEW World Championship loss to Jon Moxley will be felt on tonight's episode of Rampage.

AEW has confirmed that Rampage will feature new backstage footage following Punk's squash defeat to Jon Moxley on Wednesday's Dynamite, which brought his three-month reign as World Champion to an end.

Per AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan:-

Punk was defeated by Moxley in around three minutes in their World Title unification bout. The story revolved around Punk's surgically-repaired foot, which Punk damaged while attempting a high kick on Mox, giving his challenger a clear target to attack. With the World Champion in kayfabe agony, his interim counterpart took full advantage, targeting the injury, nailing two Death Riders, and scoring the pinfall.

Moxley had been installed as AEW's interim World Champion after Punk was injured in the wake of his Double Or Nothing 2022 triumph over former title-holder 'Hangman' Adam Page. Punk/Moxley II is still believed to be AEW's planned main event for 4 September's All Out 2022 pay-per-view, so it'll be interesting to see how they get there following such a clear, decisive Dynamite loss.
