Backstage Update On IMPACT's XXXL

An update on Acey Romero and Larry D, who haven't been seen since May.

If you've been wondering where Acey Romero and Larry D have been, then fear no more; Fightful Select is reporting that the XXXL duo is indeed still under IMPACT Wrestling contracts.

Acey and Larry had been absent from the latest set of IMPACT television tapings, with their last match airing on the 20 May episode of Before The IMPACT. There, they were victorious over Johnny Swinger and Hernandez. Aside from that, they'd been used sparingly throughout the remainder of the year, often acting as fodder vs. Sami Callihan, El Phantaso, and FinJuice, amongst others.

Romero was offered an IMPACT contract by Scott D'Amore in-ring during the 2019 All Glory event, with his official debut coming the following day in an X Division Championship ladder match at Bound For Glory. Larry D, meanwhile, didn't sign until two months later, with D'Amore utilising the same post-match method at No Surrender.

Acey Romero teased a return on Twitter recently, quote-tweeting IMPACT Wrestling's official account with the cryptic eyes emoji. Alas, they weren't used during the post-Slammiversary tapings.

It's worth pointing out that Romero also confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19 back in May, hence the pairing's absence since then. Regardless, they're both still signed to IMPACT for the foreseeable.
