Biggest Winners & Losers of AEW Double or Nothing 2024

8. Loser: Trent Beretta

Will Ospreay
AEW

On paper, Trent Beretta's loss to Orange Cassidy isn't as big of a deal as some of the others on this list. After all, no titles were on the line, nothing was at stake and he didn't even lose in any embarrassing way that would make him look like a fool.

However, his heel turn isn't working out all that well, and it's becoming obvious he made the wrong decision in abandoning his friends.

Not only did he lose here and, in a kayfabe sense, didn't get the bigger paycheck and will go down in the rankings, but failing to make a statement that proves turning on his buddy was the right decision is a bonus failure.

Then, instead of learning a lesson about it, he continued to dig the hole deeper by pushing Rocky Romero aside in anger after the match, who was only trying to help console him. That may result in losing his third friend in a row, leaving him with no allies to go forward and turn his career around.

What he hoped would be a triumphant moment to put Cassidy in his place ended up being a defeat that should make him question his mistakes.
