Brock Lesnar Defeats Rusev At WWE House Show In Mexico City
"The Beast" picks up his first win following his stunning loss to Goldberg.
In his first match since being crushed by Goldberg at the Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar was once again a beast. According to multiple reports from WWE's Raw brand house show at Mexico City's Mexico City Arena on Saturday, Lesnar handily defeated Rusev, beating "The Bulgarian Brute" in under five minutes.
The victory and its circumstances are less than surprising, given that Lesnar's house show bouts are typically quick routs of opponents (he's paid less for these shows that he is for Pay-Per-Views, and he's expected to have a different kind of bout). Still, the unexpected is to be expected ever since Survivor Series, where the returning Goldberg squashed "The Beast" in 1:26. It is expected that a collision between the two men at the Royal Rumble (both are confirmed for the Royal Rumble match itself) will lead to another showdown between them at WrestleMania 33.
Elsewhere on the Mexico City show, Roman Reigns beat Kevin Owens to retain the United States Championship, Sasha Banks beat Charlotte to retain the Raw Women's Championship, Seth Rollins beat Chris Jericho, and The New Day won a four-way match over The Club, Sheamus and Cesaro, and Enzo and Cass to retain the Raw Tag Team Titles.
