The Beast is slated to put new title up against Bobby Lashley if he's able.

Brock Lesnar might have his sights set on his title-for-title match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38, but we were informed of a potential roadblock to that main event Monday night.

Paul Heyman interrupted a Lesnar promo on Raw to inform him that he will defend his newly won WWE Championship against former champ Bobby Lashley at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, 5 March. Heyman smugly noted that he "took care of the little details" of Brock's affairs when he served as his advocate and acted like he was breaking the news to his former charger.

Brock, however, indicated that he was already aware of this development and didn't seem phased by the possible match. Lesnar won the title Saturday in an Elimination Chamber match that saw Lashley, the defending champ at the time, taken out while still in his pod when Seth Rollins powerbombed Austin Theory through his pod door.

WWE played up that Lashley was removed from the match due to "concussion protocols" and strongly hinted Monday that he still might not clear them for this MSG title match. If that happens, WWE would have to announce a suitable replacement.

In reality, Lashley has been injured since the Royal Rumble and hasn't wrestled since beating Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the PLE. He apparently will need shoulder surgery and could miss four months of action. If accurate, Lashley missing the Madison Square Garden title match is just a formality and WWE is trying to maintain a mystery for a bit longer.
