Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler And The Curse Of Consistency In WWE
There are many guys that do, however, guys that a significant portion of the fan base thinks should be further up the card and challenging for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. The roster is chock-full of talented in-ring performers, but two stand out in fans' minds as being ready (or having been ready in the past) to break through the grass ceiling and grab one of Vince McMahon's elusive brass rings: Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro.
The Show-Off and the Swiss Superman have been having great matches and drawing positive reactions for years, though no WrestleMania main event appears to be forthcoming (okay, so we're only a couple of days removed from 'Mania 32, but you get my point).
So what gives? Here are two exciting performers who routinely put on a show for the audience and deliver a great match, are in phenomenal shape and are both south of 40-years-old (both are 35). They are incredible athletes and have developed a connection with the WWE Universe, yet neither one has truly been able to establish themselves as a top-tier WWE superstar.
And I think I know why. Rather than helping their cause, I believe there inability to reach Orton/Cena/Reigns status is down to (amongst other things) the fact that they are so consistently good.
