15. Real Deal - Emma
Much like Evil Emma is an across-the-board improvement over Original Emma, this sinister rearrangement is better than Jim Johnston's Emmalution. In fact, the opening notes resemble nothing so much as the original song fading away and dying, almost as if it's trapped under the water in a Sonic the Hedgehog game.
Then the new music starts, and it's kind of unclear what it's supposed to be. It's sinister, fututistic and synth-heavy, almost like the evil counterpart to Yoshi Tatsu's old theme. It's unclear what Emma's going for with her body armor-mirror shades-tiny gloves ensemble, but maybe she's supposed to hail from a pulpy Blade Runner-y future where all music sounds like this.
Could be worse.
