Charles Manson Wanted To Meet Bray Wyatt After Seeing WWE Work (WWE News)

Either Triple H or Vince McMahon "immediately squashed" this shocking proposal.

Notorious criminal and cult leader Charles Manson was a huge fan of Bray Wyatt's on screen character. Ex-WWE writer Nick Manfredini recently told the 'Wrestling With Freddie' podcast that Manson actually wanted to meet with Wyatt in person, and this idea was brought to the desks of both Triple H and Vince McMahon.

Neither thought it'd be a good idea, so they "immediately squashed" any thoughts of Bray travelling to talk with Charles in prison. Manfredini thinks that was for the best, because "Bray Wyatt probably would have never seen TV again if we did that". He does reckon it would've been "a good story but a bad idea" to try though.

One of Wyatt's former college football teammates was a prison guard at the facility where Manson was being held. It seems this mutual friend showed the inmate some WWE promos featuring Bray's character, and Charles was intrigued to learn more. That's when he disclosed that he'd love to meet the wrestler face to face so they could have a little chat.

Bray's father Mike Rotunda reportedly knew about this, and there was talk about a 'Wyatt meets Manson' segment behind the scenes. Not for very long though, because higher ups knew they'd be opening some can of worms by filming that sort of interview.

Manfredini did mention "a Network special", so this must've been shortly after WWE launched their own in-house subscription service in 2014. Manson died due to colon cancer in 2017, so the meeting never took place. It's unclear whether or not Bray himself, who sadly passed away himself in 2023, was up for even talking to Charles Manson.
