Rumours persist that Chris Jericho will launch a spectacular WWE return in early-2026 once his AEW contract runs out at the tail end of 2025. Many fans and industry critics already have Jericho down for a spot in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, as well as factoring him into plans for WrestleMania 42 and a place in next year's Hall Of Fame.

What is the man himself saying about all of this?

Naturally, Jericho isn't giving much away, but he has dropped hints about what he'll be doing in 2026. Speaking via The Tim Weisberg Show, the former/would be (again) 'Y2J' said that he's "pretty sure you’ll see [him] in a wrestling ring somewhere in 2026".

Jericho's no fool - he knows that'll get people talking about the possibility of a WWE comeback and his involvement in the most thrilling time of the year to be a wrestling fan.

Adding another teaser, Chris also said that "things happen, and when they happen they happen quickly, so you just have to be ready to go". All of this will add fuel to the fire for those begging to see Jericho bark out old catchphrases like, "Welcome to Raw is Jericho" again.

AEW boss Tony Khan has been fairly coy about Jericho's future, but has said he'd like to see the veteran's career roll on under his umbrella. During the interview with Weisberg, Jericho also offered this: "Well, you never know, man. That’s the thing. I’m not done yet, so I’m still figuring everything out and we’ll see where I end up".

WWE comeback or more AEW work? 2026 will soon reveal all.
