For as many well-made points about Punk being right to leave, there have been equally well-made points about his being wrong. If his health and safety were being compromised, and he didnt feel that his grievances were being addressed, then he did the right thing. If he was exhausted by the way talent was being used, and sick of his complaints going unheard, then at least he acted on his frustrations. He made a grand gesture to express his disgruntlement. But that gesture left a lot of people upset, because their favourite wrestler wasnt going to be wrestling, AND he broke his contract by leaving at a climactic time of year for the company, and with no notice. It makes sense that a guy who was so passionate about pro wrestling, whose fans felt very passionate about him, would induce such a passionate reaction. But I really dont think there is anything new to be said. He should have left! He shouldnt have left! Its become the equivalent of beating a dead horse. Everything has already been said, many times over. The once-hot topic has gone lukewarm, and nothing is appetizing at this temperature.
