CM Punk: 10 Talking Points About His WWE Exit And Future Return

2. CM Punk Is No More, Meet Phil Brooks

The wrestler we hope to see return to WWE doesn't even exist any more. When the man formerly known as CM Punk appeared on the Talking Dead chat show, his first comments since leaving WWE, he abandoned the Punk persona and was announced as Phil Brooks. He didn't even mention pro wrestling, it doesn't matter to him any more. Brooks described himself as a "totally new person." He looks it too. Brooks looked younger and fresher, so the time out has obviously eased the strains which had taken their toll on him. Why would he return to wrestling when he is enjoying feeling new again? Brooks appears to have found contentment, something he all too rarely enjoyed in his life as CM Punk. Brooks has reportedly gone as far to cut out all of his wrestling past, several WWE wrestlers reportedly have had no contact from him since the walkout. The could be protecting him of course, but it seems Brooks really has just dropped everything associated to his wrestling lifestyle but for a few close confidants. He did however spark some fan hopes when he said he was "all about forgiveness" during his Talking Dead appearance. Could that be seen as a reach out to WWE? It seems a stretch, but if it is the case, it suggests the two sides could perhaps work together in the future.
