One disappointment for CM Punk during his 434 day WWE title run had to be the way he was booked as the second main event to John Cena's matches. As Champion, it had to hurt, traditionally the Champ is always the number 1 guy. Not when Cena was around, Punk's WWE title matches often ended up in the PPV mid card. The message was clear, Punk is Champ, but Cena is the man. If Punk was to return to WWE, he could look to achieve a true main event run. With Cena dropping to the mid-card and Punk's interest ironically at an all time high right now, he could just about finally dislodge Cena in the number 1 role if he was brought back in a major push. It would be a challenge for sure, even now with Daniel Bryan on top, WWE is still listing John Cena as the number one guy in the company scripts. That's what would make the achievement all the more satisfying for Punk if he could make himself the new number one guy, whoever finally dislodges Cena will have overcome the challenge of a lifetime.
