If there is one thing that CM Punk has left to accomplish in the wrestling industry, it is to headline the biggest event in wrestling, WrestleMania. After cementing his WWE Championship legacy by becoming the longest reigning champion in the last 20 years, and stealing the show at WrestleMania 29 against The Undertaker, it seemed that Punk would have that opportunity to be in the main event at WrestleMania 30. When those plans changed, and Batista returned to win the Royal Rumble and move on to headline WrestleMania 30, CM Punk reached his breaking point. CM Punk left the WWE and has not spoken about wrestling in the media for 5 months. If Punk does not return to WWE Payback on June 1st, in Chicago, he will continue to remain silent regarding his wrestling career. Just when everyone seems to have forgotten about CM Punk, look for him and Vince McMahon to strike a deal to bring him back to the WWE in 2015. If planned right, imagine the surprise reaction CM Punk will receive if he returns at the 2015 Royal Rumble, a full year after his abrupt exit from the company. Punk only signs a deal to return if he is in the main event at WrestleMania 31, so the easy way to book that would be a Royal Rumble match victory to guarantee him facing the WWE World Champion (along the lines as the Batista return this year). This is where the Reality Era under Triple H will come into play. After his initial face pop at the Royal Rumble, and victory, he would have to turn heel. Many of the WWE fans and Internet Wrestling Community will turn on him for the way he exited the company. Punk can use all this in his story line moving forward, saying he had to do this in order to achieve his goal to headline WrestleMania 31. He had to do what The Rock and Batista did before him, and come back as a part time wrestler, and steal the spotlight from the full time talents. Punk is a great face but an even better heel. The wrestling world will have to wait and see if CM Punk returns at Payback, or if he allows his WWE deal to expire. If his deal expires, who knows where he will end up. A return to his Indy roots in ROH, a jump to TNA to save the promotion, stepping inside the the UFC octagon or a return back to the WWE? Whatever CM Punk's next move is, he will put all he has into it and prove his doubters wrong. Until then, all we can do is speculate.
