CM Punk: 5 Reasons He Won't Be Back For WrestleMania 30

2. No Communication

From Punk€™s own mouth, the relationship between him and Vince is not only good, it€™s very open. They exchange texts during bouts of insomnia, and let opinions and ideas flow freely. This was confirmed by Ariel Helwani when he interviewed the Second City Saint back in late January. While many Punk fans will see this as a good thing, what they should also notice is that neither side has reached any kind of an agreement. Yet. This is a bad sign. For Punk to have an open line to Vince, and there still not be a deal finalized means the two sides are further apart than most believe. Beyond this, Punk has been radio silent ever since the Royal Rumble. He hasn€™t sent a tweet since late January, when he signed off with a cryptic, €œThanks for all the support. Keep being you guys, it€™s pretty cool.€ Since then, nothing. The WWE hasn€™t exactly been forthcoming with information either. All they€™ve done is managed to confirm that he is indeed still under contract. Vince was only willing to say Punk was on a sabbatical. Officially, the company is taking a very hard line on not saying much at all. This may drive speculation, but in reality, it€™s simply a strategy moving forward. If there have been talks between the two parties, the public is in the dark about them. It€™s okay to think there have been negotiations€”perhaps there have€”but without anything of substance, it€™s more plausible nothing of value has come from any talk. If there was one in the first place. But the WWE isn€™t waiting around, and that much is evident. They are erasing Punk from programming, and it€™s the worst sign of all.
