CM Punk: 6 Possible WWE WrestleMania 30 Opponents

3. Ultimate Warrior Or Sting

Maybe on the way out, CM Punk just wants to have some fun. Maybe with some time off, he's no longer looking to main event WrestleMania and just wants to do something interesting. Battling someone like The Ultimate Warrior or Sting could be just the trick. Before Punk took his sabbatical, he told Vince McMahon that he'd like to toss his hat in the ring to possibly induct Ultimate Warrior into the company's Hall of Fame. The two are apparently texting buddies, and Warrior sends him inspirational quotes from time to time. They're also both very outspoken, and at times, controversial wrestlers. It looks like Sting won't get his WrestleMania match this year against The Undertaker, but if he does sign on he would need something to do. Sure, WWE could just use him for special appearances, expert panels and such, or they could try to make some money and get a few big matches with him before he's done. If you've watched TNA lately, you know Sting is well past his prime, but can still put on decent matches from time to time. With CM Punk as his opponent, he would have someone who could make him look good. Now, either one of these matches would be a long shot, but both Sting and Warrior have sounded like they would at least entertain stepping in the ring again. Having Punk take on a superstar from a prior generation would be truly a once in a lifetime encounter. We've seen Brock vs. Undertaker before, we've seen Orton vs. Batista before and we're bound to see many Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena matches in the future. But Punk vs. Warrior or Sting? We'd only ever see that once, and Mania is the only place that it could happen.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
