CM Punk: 7 Reasons He Could Have Been The Biggest WWE Star Of 2014

2. A New Contract Would Have Ensured Punk Is Booked Right

Punk wobbled in his role as a WWE star because the creative team let him down. Even his 2011 push was marred by poor booking, infamously Kevin Nash feuding with Punk over a Triple H text message. In 2014 things could have been different. If Punk agreed a new contract he would have enjoyed huge leverage when doing so. WWE are desperate for proven full time drawing potential and Punk has that factor. In negotiations he could have made sure to get assurances when signing of what his future will hold. Expect him to have increased creative control at the top of his list of wants in any new deal. What this means is that Punk won't allow himself to end up in lame feuds with the likes of Ryback or Curtis Axel. He would have returned for the big time. WWE would have had to put Punk in the biggest matches and feuds of 2014 because quite simply he wouldn't bother coming back for anything else. This is a multi millionaire who can take it or leave it, what a shame that WWE couldn't give him what he wanted, now us the fans have to suffer the fallout with a diminished product. The best worker in the world is a big loss for us to take.
