6. Punk Is Retired
twitterIn a May interview with
RedEye Chicago, Punk was asked how it feels to be retired at 35, to which he replied simply, It feels good. He went on to talk about some of the charity work hes been doing in his now-abundant free time, including playing whiffle ball with Bill Murray. That three-word answer made the rounds on every wrestling website as it should and had everyone speculating about how Punk could totally walk away at such a young age and whether its actually true. Now, Punk very simply could have been sidestepping the question in the least confrontational way by half-heartedly acknowledging it with a short, blasé answer or he could have just confirmed what some have feared since January. Nonetheless, the Punk retirement rumors have picked up steam again recently with photos emerging in the last few days of Punk and new bride AJ Lee jogging, and the Second City Savior sporting what appears to be some extra pounds around the midsection. That not surprisingly has rekindled the retirement talk, which doesnt seem to be going away any time soon.
