CM Punk: 8 Rumoured WWE Returns And Status Updates

7. Punk Will Return To Ring of Honor At "Best In The World" PPV

Cmpunk Roh During his infamous 2011 pipebomb promo, CM Punk offhandedly suggested returning to Ring of Honor after his contract ran out. Fast-forward three years, Punk's contract is running out and ROH is holding its first PPV, appropriately titled "Best in the World," on June 22. Let the speculation begin in earnest. Well, June 22 has come and gone, and yet another rumor has come to pass unfounded. That's not to say that Punk will never appear in Ring of Honor again, even in the near future. Once his contract expires, Punk most certainly could decide to return to the promotion that helped make him a wrestling star and try to boost its standing. It would be a great story, with Punk leaving nearly a decade ago and going on to become one of the biggest stars in all of professional wrestling. But as far as a June return to Ring of Honor? That's another prediction that hopefully no one was betting on.
