CM Punk revealed via Twitter on Monday afternoon that he will make a grand return to the Octagon at UFC 225.

Responding to a scathing tweet asking when we'd see Punk "cry again" inside the cage, the ex-WWE star announced that he'd be shedding tears for a very different reason (victory) on 9 June. That just so happens to be the date of UFC 225 in Punk's home town of Chicago.

Whilst Punk's opponent in the fight is yet to be officially announced, MMA Fighting did claim last month that negotiations were well underway for Punk to meet Mike Jackson. Coincidentally, Jackson has also suffered a first round loss to Mickey Gall, the same man who submitted Punk via rear-naked choke at UFC 203.

After that defeat at the hands of Gall, UFC President Dana White had mentioned to the media that Punk's next fight probably should take place somewhere else. Now, it looks like White is willing to give Punk another chance inside the Octagon on home turf.

Punk claims he will win and cry when he locks eyes with his wife (fellow ex-WWE star AJ Lee) and coaches.
