WrestleMania 26 saw CM Punk's first outing as a singles competitor (excluding the stable interference from Serena Deeb and Luke Gallows), and the Straight Edge Messiah had zero problems in letting the 2010 'Mania crowd know that he was worth the time.

The match began with a stellar promo, where Punk took to the mic and viciously laid in to the audience and his opponent. With a stunning programme established in the run up to this match, the expectation was high, and all parties delivered. Simple.

One has to be bloody good to keep up with Rey Mysterio, and CM Punk was. The numerous spots and bumps served as infallible proof. Punk struck a balance between harnessing the high-flying wizardry of his Money In The Bank years, and putting forth a character so deep and dark, it would not be forgotten in a hurry. Every move he made during the contest only served to project his villainy further. It was genius.

Whilst the match itself could have benefitted from being a little bit longer, It provided irrefutable evidence that CM Punk was only going to skyrocket in the business.
