WWE has done a masterful job of turning Max Dupri into the kind of worker fans would accept as a Royal Rumble winner. LA Knight himself deserves the bulk of praise, because it's he who reached for more brass rings than Sonic has gold ones, and he's smashed every chance Triple H has given him during this push.

Similarly, GUNTHER has been on a tear as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champ ever, and many long to see what he'd be capable of further up the card in main events. Does CM Punk landing back in the E diminish those acts in the eyes of WWE creative?

Possibly.

There are only so many top spots available, and WWE's roster is bursting with ongoing concerns Trips has to focus on. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre and now CM Punk are only some of the many who'll need to be creatively satisfied.

That could, rather unfortunately, spell disaster for someone like Knight heading into WrestleMania season.
