CM Punk has called Bill Goldberg his favourite WWE star of 2020.

Punk fielded questions during a quick Q&A on Twitter, and said that Goldberg was the "smartest man in the room" when one fan asked who he thought rocked it last year.

It's unclear if Punk is being sarcastic (he's known for it) here or if he's referring to the fact that Bill regularly works short matches for maximum profit. That could be it; Goldberg doesn't hang around inside WWE rings. He rolls in, performs a few power moves and then leaves with a healthy pay packet for his efforts.

In 2020, Goldberg worked two matches against Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' gimmick and Braun Strowman. One was in Saudi Arabia (Bray) and the other was at WrestleMania 36. Perhaps that's what Punk is talking about. Maybe he admires the way Bill earned healthy coin on two of the biggest cards of the year and worked a grand total of five minutes.

There you go, WWE. Offer Punk some short matches and he'll surely sign on the dotted line. That's a joke, of course.

Who knows though?
