CM Punk Signs With UFC!

Huge news on tonight's UFC 181 broadcast.

It's official, and it's the biggest news the UFC has had all year. Forget uniforms, or the release of the complete UFC 2015 schedule: CM Punk has signed with the UFC. We don't know a lot. Punk appeared on the UFC 181 PPV broadcast in a brief interview with Joe Rogan, where the former WWE champ was quickly interviewed. He was hesitant to say what camp he'd be fighting out of, but it has been known for a while that Punk has trained with Rener Gracie of the legendary Gracie family. He also confirmed that this would not be a one-off: he's dedicated to making a run in the MMA world. As Punk stated on the broadcast, "luck is for losers" - he intends to make a go of this. The UFC could no doubt use the ratings: Punk represents the biggest singing they have made since Alistair Overeem (who turned into a bust) or Brock Lesnar himself, the last WWE star to make the transition to the UFC. With PPV buyrates down for the UFC in 2015, this is huge, huge news. Punk's post-WWE career has been a huge question mark - he has turned up on the Talking Dead and worked in the world of comic books, but fans have been speculating about a MMA run for a while now, and with his recent podcast revelations about his WWE exit, the time was right for Punk to embark on the next stage of his career. Welcome to the UFC, CM Punk. You'll need to win to really make an impact, but make no mistake - MMA and WWE fans everywhere will be watching!
