CM Punk Wants AEW Return

The Second City Saint has reportedly pitched several scenarios for his AEW return.

With CM Punk's AEW future up in the air right now, the Second City Saint has made "numerous" pitches to the company about him returning to action.

As per Fightful Select, Punk has "communicated repeatedly" to Tony Khan's promotion that he wants to return to the All Elite fold. This communication has seen "numerous scenarios" laid out by the Chicago native, and the two-time AEW World Champion has noted how he'd be willing to work with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks.

Fightful notes that, as of a few months ago, Omega and the Jacksons weren't particularly keen on working with CM Punk, with that obviously due to what infamously happened after All Out last year. Of course, things could always change where it pertains to the EVPs attitude towards potentially feuding with the Straight-Edge Superstar if he does indeed end up returning to the company.

In addition to working with the Elite, Punk has also shown willingness to return to AEW and keep well away from Omega and the Bucks. Likewise, the 44-year-old is also open to working "elsewhere". On that front, Fightful is unsure if that elsewhere means AEW adjacent - as in, for Ring of Honor - or whether that is in regards to returning to WWE or heading to A.N. Other promotion.

As it stands, CM Punk has not been seen in AEW since he went scorched earth at the post-All Out presser last September. While the Voice of the Voiceless was - much like all involved in the post-PPV brawl - initially suspended by the company, his prolonged absence is down to recovering from a torn pec. With that injury and subsequent recovery initially expected to keep Punk out of action until March or April of this year, many are presuming that the star should soon be cleared to return to the ring - if he's not been cleared already, that is.

In the seven months since All Out, there have been constant rumours varying from CM Punk and AEW were to part ways, that the talent could return to WWE, that Punk would indeed end up remaining with AEW, and plentiful other speculation as to what the icon's future is in the wrestling business, period.

Interestingly, Dax Harwood has recently used his FTR with Dax podcast to detail how CM Punk very much plans to return to wrestling somewhere, as well as Harwood also floating the idea of Punk and FTR vs. Omega and the Young Bucks for AEW's huge All In PPV from Wembley Stadium this August.
