On the surface, this seems pretty simple, right? CM Punk is straight edge and was annoyed/disgusted by someone passing out in an airplane restroom from some kind of pill abuse. Especially since it delayed him getting home after the week's WWE tour. But there were other ways people could read it. The timing of this tweet was interesting. It went up on October 12, 2010, which was three days before WWE cut Matt Hardy. Hardy had been sent home by WWE a month earlier for being "in no condition to perform." Hardy has since admitted he was deep into a terrible spiral of drug addiction and needed to clean up, but at the time he HATED CM Punk, having made a reference to a "Punk stooge" in a YouTube video he since made private. In pro wrestling, to stooge is effectively to "tell on" someone, so the implication was that Punk went to the office about something to do with Hardy, possibly including his drug habit. Anyway, the tweet clearly wasn't about Hardy since he wouldn't have been on a plane to Chicago even if he was on the road, but with what was going on at the time, it was a bold statement. Something like that was bound to get fans speculating about if it was anyone we were familiar with from TV as opposed to just some guy, when it was likely the latter.
