Having not been seen on WWE programming since his loss to John Cena at WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes made his return on last night's Saturday Night's Main Event. There, Cody appeared during the main event of Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul.

In an unexpected move, Cena got himself involved in that show-closing contest, pulling referee Rod Zapata out of the ring when Jey Uso looked to have the match won. Once Big Match John started to put a beating on Uso, that's when Cody Rhodes returned to make the save, eventually dropping Cena with the Cross Rhodes.

As for Uso vs. Paul, that ended up with Main Event Jey getting the win after putting the social media star away with a spear and splash combo.

Adding plenty of intrigue to next month's Money in the Bank PLE, post-match saw Cody take the microphone and lay down the challenge of he and Jey Uso taking on John Cena and Logan Paul in a huge tag match at MITB.

Previously, reports stated that Cena was set for a major match at Money in the Bank, though those same reports said that would not be against CM Punk. Of course, Cena and Punk have plenty of history with Money in the Bank dating back to their epic 2011 contest. As such, fans speculated that we could be revisiting that rivalry at this year's MITB.

With Punk purportedly off the table for Money in the Bank where John Cena is concerned, there were then rumblings that this big match may end up involving Travis Scott. For those not exactly clamouring to see Scott in the ring, we now know that it'll be Logan Paul teaming with Cena when Money in the Bank rolls around on June 7. That's not to say that Travis Scott might not have a role to play at that PLE, mind...

Logan Paul's Mainstream Appeal

Love him or hate him, there's no denying the mainstream appeal Logan Paul forever brings to the table. Whatever Paul is involved in, it always generates wider buzz away from just pro wrestling circles. And for WWE, they obviously constantly chase such buzz, which in turn makes their partnership with Logan a perfect one for the market leader.

Added to that, Logan Paul isn't merely a celebrity thrown into a wrestling ring solely for their mainstream appeal. Simply put, the fella is extremely capable and has ridiculous athleticism, meaning he's already been a part of some great matches and some incredibly memorable, viral moments.

In terms of giving John Cena a big-time match at Money in the Bank, from a mainstream point of view, it doesn't really get much bigger than teaming the WWE Champion with Logan Paul. Added to that, the match also features the current World Heavyweight Champion and arguably the most popular act in the company right now, Jey Uso, and likewise will feature the modern-day poster boy of this generation, Cody Rhodes.

The point being, Cena & Paul vs. Uso & Rhodes is a major match featuring plenty of star power.
