Cody Rhodes Claims WWE Raw Promo Was "Real, From The Heart, Not Scripted"
Cody Rhodes tells all on his emotional Raw promo during an appearance on WWE's The Bump.
Cody Rhodes has claimed that his emotional, impactful promo from this week's episode of WWE Raw was unscripted, making it a break from company tradition.
Appearing on The Bump on Wednesday, the WrestleMania 38 returnee stated that his words were "incredibly real, from the heart, not scripted," adding that this was a good precedent for him to set in what was his first WWE television segment in six years.
Rhodes added (h/t Figure Four Online/The Wrestling Observer):-
“I know what I’m doing with a microphone and I don’t need to be told. That was a case of I’m just going to tell you a real story, anyways. I was glad to tell it because my dream shifted a great deal in the industry as things changed for me. How often do you get another opportunity?”
Showered with near-universal acclaim during and after Raw, the charged-up promo saw Cody touch on his AEW departure, WWE comeback, and his father, Dusty Rhodes, for whom he has vowed to finally capture a world title in the biggest promotion on earth.
Rhodes returned to WWE after a protracted free agency at 'Mania 38, defeating Seth Rollins as the former Universal Champion's night one mystery opponent.
