Cody Rhodes has revealed that he spoke with ex-WCW legend DDP about WWE's initial decision to replace him with The Rock for WrestleMania 40's main event. Page told him: "This will be the best thing that has happened to you", which confused Cody at first.

Page was telling him to keep the faith and definitely keep believing in himself.

Rhodes told Ariel Helwani on 'The MMA Hour' that it was strange to see WWE pivot so close to crunch time. However, he honestly believes Triple H saw the feedback from fans and decided to twist again. Suddenly, Cody was back on for Philly vs. Roman Reigns.

During the interview, WWE's top babyface refused to reveal exactly what The Rock said to him when it looked like Cody might step to the side and let him wrestle the headliner vs. Roman instead. He told Helwani that Rocky himself has to tell that story.

Interesting.

Things have worked out in the end, at least. Royal Rumble winner Rhodes is roundly expected to finally "finish the story" at WrestleMania by beating Reigns and capturing the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. Hunter could have a riot on his hands if not!
