Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan has been pushing for mid-card talent to be better used on Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, according to Wrestling News.

Over the last few weeks, stars like Drew Gulak, Shorty G, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik have all been given their moments to shine on the blue brand. It's not a coincidence that Bryan is a big fan of all four guys.

The 'American Dragon' is said to be the person who pushed for the fatal four-way, involving the names above, which set up Metalik's Intercontinental title opportunity on this week's show and he also personally requested to work with Gulak at the beginning of the year. Bryan's fondness of Gulak also reportedly led to him getting an IC title shot a few weeks ago.

A WWE Source told Wrestling News in February, 'Bryan pitches a lot of his own ideas. Sometimes Vince (McMahon) and Bruce (Prichard) will turn down an idea but a lot of the things he has pitched have been used on TV.'

Hopefully, WWE continue to listen to people like Bryan and more under-utilised stars like Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, Naomi and many others are given a chance to be more than just a body for other top stars to overcome.
