Daniel Bryan was the dark horse to succeed when he first came to WWE and much of the reason for that came from the fact that most fans just didn't expect much from him. His ring work was appreciated and his background was respected but as far as making it in Vince McMahon's company, he was viewed by many as being just another indie star on the scene. That perception took a drastic turn for the better back in 2011 when he won the Money in the Bank ladder match. Suddenly, the man that was just hanging around was grabbing the company by the throat. Climbing that ladder was more than just a way of winning the match, it was a statement by WWE; Bryan was on his way. The crowd roared its approval as the shock gave way to excitement. Finally, something new was happening in WWE. Finally, the World Championship scene was getting fresh blood. Daniel Bryan winning the title shot was a sign of things to come and it would only get bigger from there.
